In Reply to: Any suggestions on what not to do to my new tractor posted by slang on Tuesday, March 25, 2008:
Yep...STP seems to have helped cut some wear
and make mine work smoother, 1 can STP to
about 5 or 6 qts UDT tranny oil. My Tranny
holds 7 gal so I used 4 cans STP on the first
50 hour tranny oil change. I could have gone
with 5 cans STP. Seems a lot of us have tried
it and it seems to work great, just don't over
do it. STP seems to make all the hydrolic
parts hold up better and longer. Of course
the dealer don't want to hear about
adding STP they don't like it, but that's
with any company. The trick is to add it at the
50 hour change, that gives time for break in
and is installed while it's in new condition.
Same for the engine, but use 1 can in it.
