My Manual covers the model, it indicates two possibilities on P/S an integerial unit, and a booster type {add on} to manual unit.
I have a bout the same year B7100 4x4 hst with loader, it is only a little smaller than L235 at least engine wise, I'm not sure about overall size, but P/S is definately not necessary for a FEL on the 7100, it is quite manageable to steer even with full bucket,
I'd think the hassle of the p/s would outweigh the benefits unless you are using it a lot for loading in tight quarters.
