couple things, I e-mailed a schematic,
1st, check adjustment and whether the switch is good on clutch safety switch
2nd check PTO is off
On the ignition these switches have some history, with out knowing your mechanical background, and not wanting to insult your knowledge, make sure all the connections on the back of it are good and tight.
If the ignition is not returning to run position under good spring tension it is likely kaput.
eliminate starter as problem, ignition switch to run, cross solenoid and see if starter bumps.
eliminate wiring as problem, it both are good, then it is ignition switch.
