Sounds like your battery is holding just enough charge to start it, then goes to pot.
Start the tractor and set it about 1500 rpm
and use a volt meter, touch the leads to the
post on the battery and it will tell you how
much the alternator is putting out. It should
read more than 12 volts. 14.5 would be great,
some of the small stuff may not read but 13 to
13.5 volts. Turn off the engine and touch the
volt meter to the battery again and it will
tell you how much voltage is in the battery.
