I probably need to add some info and clear up a few things. I bought the tractor new in 1992 and while it only has 900 hours it has seen a lot of hard use. I always maintained it but for some reason I had to rebuild the engine last summer. I took the spool valve apart but there's nothing to rebuild but an O'ring at each end of the two shafts and the detent at the end. The detent is in bad shape but from what I see that has nothing to do with fluid. The O'rings seal the end of the two shafts but they don't leak so I see no reason to replace them. I can't imagine the shafts getting worn enough to allow fluid to seap past their surfaces but it's going somewhere and it's not leaking on the ground. I've switched the bucket cylinders with the arm cylinders and still the bucket bleeds down which makes me think it is the spool valve. I don't think it would do any good to replace the shaft in the spool valve because part of the wear may be in the bore of the casting. I see spool valves at farm store and I'm sure they are probably lots less than an original Kubota part. Hate to replace it if that's not it but don't know what else to do. I appreciate and read everyone's comments carefully. Thanks, Mike
