Just wanted to add a little info to the STP
usage. I work in the city motor pool, and we
had a rash of bad power steering problems with
rack and pinion steering going out and steering
goofy. We started adding 1/4 can STP and no more
than that to the power steering fluid. That stopped our problems to a hault. We have added it
to all the vehicles including trucks with recirculating ball sectors, and had no more problems. We use a turkey baster to draw out some
of the fluid so we can add the STP. If you use
too much in the power steering it will be stiff.
We now are going on 5 years on some of the vehicles we added the STP to, no problems and no
leakage, all steer like a dream. I will now add
it to my KUBOTA UDT, I have all ways used it in
the engine.
