Steve,look at the trans pulley,is it stood up or laid on its side?There were 3 different trans setups used over the yrs.If the pulley is stood up I would go ahead and change the belt,if that does not help,and u know the fluid level is right u are looking at about 400.00 or so for a new trans at the extrem,there are a few other minor things that could cause it though,and would require disassembly of trans,which I am not going to try and coach threw that,ok.Not to be ugly or anything.In the rare case it has a laid down pulley with a sunstrand trans parts are no longer avail through deere,u have to install the newer style trans,$$$$$$$.
