John,if u have a common 12v test light,run the mower till the clutch gives the problem,then check the dark or light blue wire going to the clutch,it should light with the pto sw on,if it lights, the magnet probably has a short in it.If u remove the outer clutch drive and inspect the magnet assy,I bet there is a puffed up spot on the orange insulation.
