I can understand the problem as I to had it, but
let me tell ya about this "Fix" that I keep reading about. I have a 5 year old 870 w/ 200 hours that has been kept with the clutch pedal engaged to keep the disc from sticking, the problem with this is the shaft behind the throwout bearing will rust and will not let the clutch fully re-engage, although you may not feel the clutch slipping it is due to the rust and weakened pressue plate springs. The next chapter in this story is the clutch will destroy itself due to heat coming from the slight slippage.
This Fix is temporary at best, the solution is for JD to look for a better material for clutches.
This is almost 2005, we have materials that can re-enter earths atmosphere at 3,500 degrees F so JD can find a suitable material to plow the ground! The JD "solution" is unacceptable.
