john deere 750 Diesel Tractor, Engine will not turn over

I was driving down the road when the engine on my John Deere 750 Diesel (1995) began to miss. I pulled to the side of the road, the engine died, will not turn over. When I turn the key I hear nothing other than the relay clicking. I installed a new fuel filter. Any suggestions will be appreciated!
