Take Aron's advice. It worked! Our 1998 445's rubber hose was cracked too. To get to the fuel pump, remove the six 10mm bolts (two under the seats, four connecting to the foot rest spots) that hold the rear body piece on. Lift off the rear body piece (remembering to remove the brake light fixtures FIRST, and disconnect the seat safety switch -- slide the seat safety switch cable through the hole in the bottom of the body piece), and place it aside (the seat will remain attached). Unscrew the fuel pump's retention ring (big black threaded disc), and then lift the fuel pump out of the tank. Connected between the fuel pump and tank is a rubber hose with a split in it. Replace that hose. Replace all parts in the reverse order of removal (be careful not to crush the light bulbs/fixtures, and remember to carefully slip the safety switch and cord back through the hole it was in originally). Make sure the light bulbs/fixtures are secure, as well as the safety switch.
Start the lawntractor.
Mow. :)
