: I have a 1995 jd425 w/ 302 hrs on it. it will run 5-10 minutes and then sputter and then stop running. i changed air filter, gas filter & plugs. any advice
I have a tractor very similar in age and hours. Had problems the past year with it running rough after about 2-3 hours of use, and it would not want to start again until cool. Had two places work on it, but was unsuccessful at clearing it up (tune-up, winter service package...). Third place I took it, they worked some kind of magic...they said the air filter was clogged, but I thought I had cleaned it before more than once, and certainly at the shop it had been cleaned (?)
Runs better now after new filter, and it uses much less gas now too.
