My 111 used to do that also. Make sure the holes on the screen over the fly wheel are not plugged and that the cooling fins on the head are free of debris. I had a build-up of cotton wood fluff on the screen and grass in the fins. It got so hot once that it smelled lke burning leaves. Several years later my 111 was getting very tired so I replaced the engine with a 12HP from Fleet Farm. Very little trouble.
: I also recently acquired a John Deer 111 with a Briggs and Stratton 11HP.
: When it got hot it would start to loose power and had to let it idle to get
: power back. But now it just won't start. I am looking for any help or ideas.
: Everyone is telling me first to check spark because I have cleaned out the
: Carb with no unveil and replaced the spark plug.
: Does anyone no a common problem or Service Tree to follow on this lawn tractor.
