LX188 Blades Won't Turn On

I've had period problems with the blades on my LX188 not turning on when switched. Now, they have quit altogether. Any suggestions? I was told there was a fuse associated with them that could cause it, but I see nothing in the manual that describes it, and that explanation seems kinda fishy as it has worked on and off in the past few months.
