Dave,
I have two 318s, on one the battery lite comes on half the time the clutch is engaged. This has been happening for about four years. the charging system is putting out 13.6 volts with clutch engaged at full throttle which is well above 12.3. The battery voltage is ok. Is the voltage sensor in the black box? Could it give a bad reading. All volt amp ohms reading are in the acceptable range. I put a new battery in last year old one was eight years old. Any ideas?
