Have you checked to see if the tractor's charging system is working? Have you had the battery tested under load to see if it is ok? With the engine off, key off, take a voltage reading between the two battery terminals (should be less than 12 volts) and then with the engine running, test the voltage again (should be higher than the first reading, around 13-14 volts, indicating that the engine is recharging the battery) I'm not very familiar wuth the clutch in the 160, so I can't really help you trouble shoot that.
