I am having a problem with a '67 4020 LP Tractor. Problem started when tractor died after generator light came on. I had a mechanic look at it and he placed a "jumper wire across the starter soleniod that was a temporary fix. I have since replaced the regulator (I did polarize it) and had the generator rebuilt. After installing the generator, I still could not get it to run unless I put the jumper wire on it. I also noticed that the (positive ground) battery terminal would spark when first attached. After starting a second time with jumper wire attached, the wiring harness sparked and smoked. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?
