If there is a shot at rebuilding your motor, I wouldn't run it any more. A rebuild runs $800-900 and a new motor runs $1500 not installed. After I was done crying, I went for a new motor and installed it myself. It's not that hard if you are a decent backyard mechanic. If changing a spark plug is all you have ever done, you might let them do it.
