I had the same exact problem on my STX 38. Replace the coil. I was told the coil was bad as I described what you said. When it gets hot it quits. When it cools off it starts again. It cost about $45.00 and is easy to replace. You can email me if you have any more questions. I did the repair in about an hour or less. Dave
