My guess is carb problems, most likely it is varnished up from old gas. You can try spraying carb cleaner in it, but most likely you will need to tear it apart and clean/rebuild it. Not an expensive thing if you need your repair shop to do it. My fingers are too big for delicate work, so my carbs go out. The last one cost me less than $30 to be cleaned and rebuilt.
