Does your tractor currently have a deck? If yes, have you considered repairing it? New bearings and spindles are not outragiously expensive, and the deck shell itself can be patched by welding repair plate(s) on it. Just suggestion a another possible solution. You might want to check the classifieds section of http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JohnDeereGardenTractorClub/ as a sourse of parts for your tractor.
