Hi: All Fuel pumps, must be timed to coincide with the engine revolutions. Any competant JD Dealer with a Service Dept. can tell you how to time the engine & pump. The same engine used in the 350 & 450's are used in numerous applications on JD equipment. If you still have problems ,let me know & I'll get you some further info. Good Luck,Roger
