Mark, I have the same sputtering problem with my 322. I have a cousin that has a 322 and got his advice on the poblem. He said that his 322 did the same thing. The 322 has three coils and one of them is failing to fire. He had to replace one of the three coils. The way he tested it, was when the tractor was sputtering he opened the hood and connected a timing light to each one of the spark plug wires and determined which coil was not firing the plug (apparently the one not firing won't blink the light). He replaced that coil and the 322 runs fine now. It got cold weather and I haven't come up with a timing light to test mine yet. Good luck I hope this helps.
