I just had the same problem with my 1988 JD 318
It would run for 5 - 10 minutes then shut off.
The tractor would crank over, and the lights on the dash would work just fine.
After the engine cooled down, it would work again, for about 2 - 3 minutes then stall.
Your sounds similar.
I do have it fixed now and
It was the module that you list above.
The problem is that you have to pull the engine out to get to this item, and while you are down there fix the rotor too.
The module cost me $78.89 + tax.
The Rotor cost me 17.59 + tax
