Another important piece of info is to get one with power steering if you're getting something fairly big. I have a D160 Wheelhorse and even with a 40 year old handyman, he complains of hard steering when a snow blower or the 48 inch deck is on it. A used Kubota might be the ticket at the higher range in price cuz they have power steering on most models.
And of course, a hydrostatic transmission so he won't have to clutch, shift etc. Can't beat the convenience of the auto.
