I suspect the problem may be with the computer chip in the fuel system. The one there reduces fuel flow under certain conditions to meet our great EPA standards (the darn thing is regulated the same as a car). Deere is working on a new chip, however, it is pending EPA approval. I have been waiting 6 months for it.

: Keith,
: I experienced a similar problem last fall on my 2000 JD4700. The problem was random, but occured more on an incline than on the level. I could not duplicate the miss or stall for the dealer. I suspect the cause is interuption of fuel flow from the tank. I intend to check this possiblilty when it gets warmer here in PA.

: : I have a 2000 JD 4700 compact diesel tractor with only 200 hours on it. A problem has developed recently. After running under load for a while, the engine starts to sputter intermittently, and it will often stall. I've checked the air filter, fuel filter, all the obvious stuff and everything looks fine. It's as if the tractor were running out of fuel (which in fact it isn't.)
: : I wouldn't expect a carburetion problem in a tractor this new. Any ideas? Thanks- Keith
