For $3500-$5000, you can get a really nice machine for what you want to do. A Deere LT or LX series would be great or you could go a little overkill to the GT series, Simplicity makes a very nice tractor with one of the tightest turning radius's in the industry (good for going around those trees you mentioned), Cub is MTD's top line machine and the 1500 series will do what you want, the 2000 series is a step up in strength as far as driving a tiller, the Wheelhorse Classic is a time proven design that will do the job too. Allis Chalmers and Massey Ferguson are manufactured by the same company and are good machines. I'd start hitting the dealers and getting some info and catalogs. While at the dealer, check out his repair shop. Is it a professional looking set-up, reasonably clean and safe? Does he have a decent parts inventory? Is he polite to the customers? Are there dozens of customer's machines sitting in the rain waiting to get worked on? In your budget, you have the luxury of buying a premium brand machine with more quality and reliability than what you might see at Walmart for example. Enjoy shopping!
