Thanks for the insight. We live in Arizona. My folks live on an acre and use almost 3/4 of the acre for their gardening and fruit trees. The property is flood irrigated. He has a medium-size grass yard to mow - uses a push mower now.
We are looking for something fairly reliable, given that I don't want create more work for him by getting something that requires a lot of set-up or repairs (i.e., fairly old used models). So, we are hoping to keep it in the $5,000 to $7,000 range on the upper end. Of course, we would be happy to spend less.
Is there a difference in terms of brands for the tractor when it comes to availability of add-ons (like the rototiller attachment)?
Is there an online site where people sell their tractors - other than E-bay?
I appreciate your taking the time to help us out. Mom and dad have birthdays this month and we were over at their house on Friday. Apparently he's already become suspicious that we are up to something, so I might take your advice and bring him along to the dealer.
