Hello Jeffery,

Does your STX 38 Have and electric PTO engagment? It maybe that you PTO engagement pull has gone bad. I have a 95 STX 38 with the black deck and it has an electric PTO instead of manual. I don't think that there would be any trouble with you wiring harness. You can take and put a volt meter on the connector going to the PTO pulley and see if you are getting 12volts on this wire. If you are then the PTO could be bad, if you are not getting 12 volts on this wire then you may have a short in the wire. Just a suggestion. Hope you can solve your problem soon.
