This problem started with the front PTO not engaging at all. The motor runs well and the tractor moves well, it was that the PTO just did not engage when the switch was flipped to on position. Replaced switch with no results. Determined that the electric source wire (blue one) from Time delay Module had no juice, so replaced the Time Delay Module. Now I have an even worse problem.
With the new module installed, the key ignition works, the front PTO engages fine, but when the seat switch is engaged, the main 20 amp fuse blows. This is consistant and blows only when the seat switch is engaged and key is just turned on and not starting the motor. Replaced what I thought was the errant wire to seat switch but that did not solve the problem.
To complicate the situation, the old Time Delay Module makes the tractor do all that it is supposed to, except the PTO, so other errant or grounded wires do not seem to be the problem. I can get the PTO clutch to engage by bypassing the switch and providing electricity direct to the PTO clutch wire.
Has anyone ever experienced this kind of problem before? I am thinking that I got a bad replacement Time Delay Modulel but have no way of proving it myself.
Would appreciate any comments
