Whats wrong with this picture an onan 18hp twin is $1400 complete at the dealer,a short block is $1800 at the dealer yes thats right a short block is $1800 yet I have found it on line for $1175 complete. a rebuilder told me $600 to rebuild it even if he has to send the crank out to be welded and reground so i took it to him he checked the crank and siad it doesn't need to be welded and he will rebuild for $800-$900 what happened to $600 with the outside work? Well Dakota kid I see what you mean. Also I was at a JD dealer 8-11-03 and looked at the new models from the low L series to the top of the line premiums and didn't see anything that impressed me they all look alike, stamped out tin and recycled plastic junk. Yes I am a John Deere lover but not a jd (junk dealer) lover. Had a 68 112 loved it wish i had it today. Will John Deere ever build a real lawn and garden tractor agian?
