mower blades quit during yard mow

The blades on my LX172 quit turning when I was cutting the grass, my cousin works for a JD Dealer said it could be the PTO or a fuse. I pull and push the yellow knob to engage the blades but nothing happens, usually you can feel when the blades engage. Where are the fuses so I can check for myself?
