JD 160 starting problem

Hi,

I have a JD 160 which will not start. I pulled the plug wire with plug inside and grounded to frame and kicked the starter. No spark. Would this definitely be the magneto/coil that is bad?? I tried new plugs and the gas seems to be flowing ok.
