This is a pretty basic question, but I've never done it. How do you get to the piston rings to replace them? I took off the head cover and can see the top of the piston. Looks like I need to remove the cylinder housing (?). Is this bolted in from below? Am I going to have to remove the engine from the tractor to do this?
Am I even looking in the right place to fix a big oil burning problem (1 qt in 2 hrs or so)?
This is a JD 140 with a Kohler K321AS 14hp engine. Any help is much appreciated!
