If its not a mechanical tie up in the axle knuckles or the steering than its most likely the bearings on the pump. I had a 670 doing the same thing and the motor blew at 3000hrs. Put new motor in and new bearings at same time. Like brand new and no more chewbacca whines. Seems like bearing where inexpensive. The whole front timing gear housing has to come off though.
Just my experience. Yours may be different.
