In Reply to: JD model 710, with German diesel engine posted by Daniel Waite on Monday, October 01, 2001:
Hi there Dan,
just found this board, so will reply to your query.
The 710 model was a crossover nodel produced at the Mannheim plant in Germany between 1965 and 1967
The engine is by Deere, and the transmission is basiocally a Lanz.(deere took over Lanz in the 1950's)
Engine is 3320cc, about 50 hp.
Price when new in Germany was 18190 Deuchmarks.
The engine out of a European 2130 will fit in and is an improvement, as the earlier engine could suffer cylinder liner/block seal failure.
They were imported into Canada for a few years.
Hope that this info. helps.
Nigel in Ireland.
