Thanks for the replies it was the rubber seals on the fuel pump shaft....I have since replaced. Was also told that if there is a side mount fuel pump on these type tractors the pump can leak also thus letting fuel into the oil pan also. I was advised to always check the side mounted fuel pump that bolts onto the engine block first before pulling the other main fuel pump.
