I have a JD LX280 lawn tractor. A few weeks ago, the blades kept stopping while mowing. I could cycle the PTO switch and the blades would start, but stop again after moving about 10 feet.
I pulled the tractor up to the house and smelled something burning. I opened up the hood and saw smoke coming from a capacitor on the ignition module. I bought a replacement for $89 and it blew again.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot and repair this issue would be greatly appreciated. My grass is getting quite high and it needs some mowing.
Thanks,
Bruce
