My JD 2440 takes 30 to 45 seconds to "pressure up" when engine is cranked. Front end loader and rear lift arms will not lift until noise subsides and pump is flooded. They shake due to air in system. I'm concerned this "starving" will eventually damage the pump. I've cleaned the cylindrical strainer and replaced the filter (and fluid) without change. Is their a ck valve that is suppose to hold the fluid in the pump?
