I have a John Deere 318, born in 1988. It has been a great tractor however in the last few months it will run for about 15 minutes and shut down. After cooling for around a hour, I can start it and again 15 minutes later it shuts down.
I think it is the coil or the control that is near the fly wheel. Is there any way of testing the coil to see if it is good before I have to rip the engine apart toget at the controller?
thanks,
