I went to the John Deere dealer today and they asked me about the oil line being stopped up. I told them no and they told me it might be the crankcase valve. I'm not sure why that little valve would cause the cap to be blown off, because it lets air in the line which already has air coming from it. I'm going to install the new valve anyway, can't hurt.
