Goodaye,
I am in Sydney , Australia and my father has asked me to send you an Email, as he is not into this "fangle dangle" technology. He is seeking information on an antique John Deere & Co plow he has rescued from the grips of a wrecker.
He believes it may be one of the earliest plows made by Deere & Co. and it was found amongst a lot of antique machinery at a relatives property at Wellington, NSW.
It is a single furrow Moldboard plow with two wheels & a pole for two horses. Moulded into components are the following details- On the foot rest is - "Gilpin", On the Wheel Arch is "DEERE & Co." We can take a photo & Email it if it will help identify the plow.
Are you able to pass this onto some one who can identify all relevant information on its origin, year of manufacture, and its relevance in making John Deere famous in the Agricultural world. This information will used as support information as the plow will be on display as part of a historical collection at COMEALONGANAVALOOK TRAINWORLD at Wellington.
If unable to provide the relevant information could you help me in locating an address or Email to source the above info.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated, and may convince my dad that this "fangle Dangle" Internet stuff does work
Regards,
Dave Giddings.
