I have 2 425s in service. One of them developed a leak as you describe. It was the gasket above the filter. John Deere Est that I got by calling Ranged near $2000.00 I repaired it my self; EMAIL me direct I will walk you through it. Step by step. You will be suprised how simple it is. Mine has no leak. and is still the best graden tractor built in it's time.
