Daryn : From a mechanical perspective the tractor is in a certain weight and horsepower line. What I do is find out the replacement cost of that size tractor in todays standards. Then I take the approximate tangible value of the machine in question "if" it was in running condition and then also what percentage of life is left in it.
For instance if your 755 was running fine and it had 2800 hours on it, you could figure it has seen 90% of it's efficient days and the machine could not be pushed really hard like a new one or it will break something. Now if a person was to buy it to operate light duty it may last another 25 years.
However a tractor that size runs around 14k with no attachments, meaning it's worth around
5k running good with no broken parts.
You never put the amount in tangible value of the equipment into the repairs of any equipment. I think your really close on your price of 2k. It's just hard to spend time and money into a peice of equipment when in reality after the repairs are done it has cost you the price of that tractor in the repairs.
