I just had a similar problem with my 4230 and the hydraulic system principles should be the same. My problem was that the steering would get very difficult and the loader would occasionaly go up or down very slowly when I moved the levers. Sometimes it was okay and then it would seem like the steering almost locked up. When I reved it up high, things seemed to get better. The dealer wound up overhauling both hydraulic boxes in the back of the tractor. He said that there were internal leaks that disrupted the flow of hydraulic fluid to the loader and the steering. Works fine now but it isn't cheap. My overhauls were about $800-$900 per hydraulic box. Hope yours is a simpler fix.
