ok, so I used a booster cable from my car and bypassed the solenoid - I hooked the cable first to the starter, then to the positive battery terminal. Some sparking, but the engine cranked. It wasnt doing that before.
Is it safe to say that I probably need a new solenoid?
Also, I tried to make the unit start this way, but it wouldnt - it just cranked. Is that normal when you jump this or am I looking at a new issue?
