I hope this site has MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS for answers given!
Per JD factory tech manual:1, check operation of electric fuel solenoid in CARB for shutoff.
2, check fuel pump output:room temp, disconnect fuel hose from carb and put in graduated cylinder or other measuring container, turn key to ON/RUN, measure output=200ml/30sec or 7oz/30 sec.DO NOT START ENGINE!
