hey thanks for the follow up, actually this is a non-hydro yellow deck. The clutch is just a spring loaded pulley. Drive belt tension is tight (not super tight but definetly snug) and the belt is new. i looked on kohler site and the 12.5 hp engine is rated at 3600 rpms. i think i am gonna hook up a tach to the ignition to make sure im fully revving. I cant think of a reason i would not be.....but who knows. Like i said it seems to run fine and cut well.
