Free things to check are as follows; Look under the seat at the safety switch, Has it become dislodged? Connections tight? Switch cracked? Any of these things will shut off your tractor if the PTO is turned on, and could be intermittent. Also, is the battery light on? If your charging system isn't working properly, you may not have enough electricity to run the PTO and ignition system, but this is less likely. I'd definitely look at the seat switch.
