Sean : The day you took it out of the shed and as you state it worked like brand new, did you operate it and it pulled uphill. Normally if the tractor pulls fine and then doesn't and or one time works in reverse but the next time doesn't and then goes forward does not seem consistant with charge pump failure it seems the shuttle valves in the shift valve body may have become sticky while setting and your pressures oil is intermittently shifting the spool say maybe only a portion of what is needed to allow the full flow of clutch pack oil to the clutch packs.

Do you happen to have the service manual for that tractor ?
